After taking a full day’s break from studying yesterday, I decided that I deserve another break today. So, instead of studying for my last final I’ve been spending the day scrolling through Bloglovin’ and lying in bed. I am going to do something by the end of the day, but it’s only two so I have a bunch of time. Anyway, I thought I might as well write something if I’m not going to do anything productive, so these are some of my current favourites!
Lately, I’ve been loving Jon Bellion. I heard All Time Low ages ago, but I didn’t start listening to any more of his music until now. I’ve been playing The Human Condition on repeat for days, and I don’t think I’ll be stopping anytime soon! I would especially recommend his songs Guillotine, Overwhelming, iRobot, and Morning in America.
I bought two bomber jackets over the holidays and I’m obsessed. One of the jackets is black and super warm so I haven’t taken it off yet. (I have a really cold school…) The other is a gorgeous rose colour, but I haven’t worn it too much yet. I’m super excited to find ways to style these in the spring!
I have also had a thing for shoes lately, which isn’t normal for me. I’m usually that person that wears the same two pairs of shoes religiously, but I recently got two new pairs of shoes that are way outside of my comfort zone and I’m in love with them. I haven’t had a chance to really try either pair out yet, since the snow is already melting and it’s getting muddy, but once the ground firms up I’m going to have fun!
For a long time I really struggled to keep up with Youtube, but now I spend hours on it every weekend. Some Youtubers that I’ve started to love are Lucy Moon, Kelsey Simone, Dodie Clark, and Evan Edinger.
I actually haven’t been reading much for the last few months, but a friend of mine lent me a book called The Trolley Problem by Thomas Cathcart and I’m loving it. It hurts my brain a little, but it’s worth a read!
I haven’t been looking for many new blogs lately, but some of my favourites are Hannah Gale, Thirteen Thoughts, The Sunday Chapter, Ashley Dun, The Next 7, The Little Engine That Couldn’t, and Musings From Nevilles Navel.
Also my own blog.
Some Other Stuff
I’ve been thinking about starting to do a weekly ‘coffee conversations’ type post (with a different name, obviously) that would just be me talking about my life, current news, some favourites, and stuff like that. This part of this post is what that would be like.
In current news, John Hurt passed. His acting was beautiful, and it’s heartbreaking to know that he’s gone. My condolences go out to his family and friends, this must be a very difficult time for them.
Another sad thing: HMV Canada is shutting down. Now the closest place for me to buy a new record is five hours away. I’m pretty upset about this, but at least there will be some great sales. Gotta find the positives in the negatives.
I have my last final on Monday, then the second semester starts. I’ll be taking Math 10C, Science 10, French, and one other option. The only option that I’m getting for that other class is Drama, but me and my mom are going to go to the principal to see if I would be able to take Design, Media, and Communications over correspondence instead. I’m really hoping for that, since Drama would be torturous.
I’ve also been looking over my blog and I just noticed that my font is tiny. I’m not quite sure how to fix it, but I’m going to try and figure it out. My Bloglovin’ is also looking really ugly, so I think I’m going to go back and add new photos to my old posts to try to make it a bit prettier.
I’ve played with my new camera a bit, and I’m really enjoying it. It has a flip-out screen, so there will be some outfit pictures on here soon. I’m going to find something to act as a background in my room, and with the amazing lighting my room gets the photos should look amazing.
I’m still in the process of figuring out what I want my blog’s Instagram feed to look like, but I think I’m going to have it figured out soon. I’m really excited to get going with that since I love having a pretty feed!
John Green has started talking about the benefits of working out on Vlogbrothers so now I’m mentally on a working out kick. You know when you fantasise about the amazing benefits of doing something for hours on end, but you rarely actually do the thing? That’s how I feel about working out.
I think that’s all I have for today. As soon as I think of a catchy name for whatever this is, I think this will be a weekly thing. If anyone has any name ideas for me, please leave a comment down below!
